To be honest, I did not think this was going to work out. So I thought, to get rid of all of this white yarn, I’ll hold a strand with each color. I don’t even feel like I use much of it, but there’s always a surplus of white yarn.

And because the colors were so random I didn’t know what else I would be able to make with them. So I went through my stash and found a bunch of colors that I purchased to make another pattern, but I thought about it and I just wasn’t feeling that pattern anymore. I had no stash busting patterns when I learned about the topic of this blog hop. I absolutely love being a part of the Design Create Repeat Blog Hops every few months because they really give me the opportunity to think outside the box. But this is a stash busting blanket, so using double strands is a great way to reduce your stash quickly.
Another pattern of mine is using multiple strands! As you can tell, I am obsessed with this technique and should probably put together my own little roundup of my double stranded crochet patterns. This pattern holds double strands throughout the entire blanket but I’ll give you tips on how to work with multiple strands along the way. This free crochet pattern is easy, beginner friendly, and works up fairly quickly for a blanket.
